A young and ambitious Wilson Narvaez was working in the local supermarket where he lived. He played many roles and throughout the years he had acquired a fountain of both knowledge and experience that sparked in him the desire to have a supermarket of his own.
Upon moving to and working in Westchester County, Wilson immersed himself in its strongly diverse community. Quickly, a huge opportunity was identified that would open many doors for the company. Supermarkets did not have the international products that their consumers needed. La Placita made it their goal to provide a wide variety of international products from countless independent vendors across the tri-state area.
In July 2002, Wilson ventured on his own and La Placita opened its doors for the first time for the people of Ossining, NY. Their focus: to provide customers with a fresh assortment of meat and produce accompanied by a wide variety of international products and excellent customer service.
As time went by and business grew, La Placita expanded to new cities, adapting to service the consumer needs of each of those communities.
Today, La Placita has over 200 associates and operates in 6 locations with prospects for future growth.
